PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project was meant to be a training exercise for the team, both in team-work and further development of existing skills picked up over the four years of the team’s university career. To this end, we at Eschaton decided the best approach would be to get the team to develop a smaller game as per an extended game jam, and as a group we chose to emulate arcade-style games using Unity over the 2024 summer.

Everything is original work except for, course, what the Unity Engine provides such as:
• Collision detection & physics systems,
• Rendering systems,
• Platform functionality,
• And so on

The demo contains various displays of the teams ability, such as the various UI art, sprite-work, endless runner game behavior, scoring and leaderboard systems, various power-ups and de-buffs, mobile platform controls functionality, and so on.

The goals for this project were thus:

• To give the internship team a chance to showcase the skills they’ve developed throughout their tenure as a student,
• To capitalize on the opportunity to try and learn building for a different platform (in this case, mobile instead of PC),
• And to give the internship team experience with working in a team, and following a structure conducive towards such group work.
